Bug Description
After I open a file from the dash launcher, the next time I start up the launcher and type over my previous query, my text is only matched against files and folders. Note how in the attached screenshot, the "emacs" query fails despite the fact that I am in the dash overview, not the file lens. In order to search for applications I have to first delete the entire query. This behavior creates an extra confusing step for users that want to subsequently launch an application. In contrast, after opening an application from the launcher, subsequent queries are correctly matched against both files and applications.
Steps to reproduce buggy behavior:
1. From the dash, search for open a file on your computer (Photos.zip in my example).
2. Open the dash again, and search for an application like gedit by typing over the old query. Confirm that the search fails unless one first clears the entire contents of the text box.
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
