Bug Description

1.) Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Release: 14.04

2.) google-chrome-stable:
  Installed: 40.0.2214.111-1
  Candidate: 40.0.2214.111-1
  Version table:
 *** 40.0.2214.111-1 0
        500 http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3.) Expect to see video play and no crashing.

4.) When using Google Chrome (current version 40.0.2214.111 (64-bit)) and attempting to watch any Youtube video, the Unity Desktop experiences a crash and the Unity Desktop (unity start/search and task bar) disappear. I am unable to launch a terminal window. All Window menus disappear (i.e. Minimize, Maximize, Close) including those that are related to the top right shutdown/restart/logoff menu. Desktop background remains viewable and Desktop icons are also viewable. Keyboard input starts to malfunction in window sections.
