Bug Description

Configuration:

x230 laptop with an external monitor attached via hdmi (using minidisplay -> hdmi adapter).
Tbe builtin display resolution is 1366x768.
The external display resolution is 1920x1080.
Both displays are on.
Displays are not mirrored.
The external monitor is configured as positioned above the internal display, aligned along their left edges.

Action:

Run gnome-terminal maximized and positioned on the external display.
Run chrome maximized and positioned on the internal display.
Close the laptop lid to cause the system to suspend.
Wait for the system to suspend and for the external display to go to sleep.
Open the laptop lid.

Observed outcome:

Both gnome-terminal and chrome are now positioned on the external display and maximized.
