Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1366282/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Are you sure there was nothing more on the log? That's weird, it's basically empty.

yes i am sure . i entered command in terminal waited 3-4 hours to finish the command but nothing happened so i just closed the terminal and found this debug.log.

Andrea Azzarone (azzar1) wrote :

Can you try again (this is not going to fix the problem, will be just useful to debug the issue)

1. Open a terminal
2. Launch dbus-monitor --profile > dbug.log
3. Open the session indicator
4. Click on "Shutdown..."
5. Wait few seconds
6. Alt-tab to terminal
7. Cltr-C to kill the command

At the end you should have in your home directory the file dbug.log. Please attach it here.

Sorry for bothering you again but can you run in a terminal (not a tty, just a normal gnome-terminal)

unity --replace > unity.log

They try to shutdown using the session indicator. Then attach the file unity.log here.

Ok so we can consider this a duplicate of bug 1242112. You can find there a simple workaround.
