Bug Description

This one seems easy to duplicate. In a dual screen setup, do the following. Place an instant message (Pidgin, etc) on monitor 1, workspace 3. Place Firefox on monitor 2, workspace 1. Have the user in the message send you a link. When you click the link, it opens in Firefox in workspace 1 as expected, but Firefox is moved from monitor 2 to monitor 1.

This type of behavior should not take place as windows in other workspaces should not be shuffled around. Users place certain windows in certain workspaces for a multitude of reasons. While workspaces are great to have, behavior like this tends to be a bit of a buzzkill when users must place everything back to where it should have been in the first place.

Note: Should have tested this prior to submitting the report, but it was an afterthought. This does not take place in Chrome. Just Firefox.

Perhaps related, when I have firefox open in 2 workspace and in the (say) upper one surf to katproxy.bz (a site with penty of pop-ups), then it will automatically switch to the lower workspace firefox window whenever a new spam popup appears in the upper firefox window. Very weird and annoying. Cannot reproduce in Chromium because there the popups appear as new tabs.

Ubuntu 14.04, firefox 31.0

Let me know if I can assist here or instead should open a new bug (in which case, sorry for the noise here).
