Bug Description
Usually files on the Desktop can be dragged to the trash to delete them. This doesn't work for links. They still can be deleted using the "Move to trash" entry in the context menu. However, the non-tech people I'm supporting with their Ubuntu machines seem to struggle with this, not being able to remove links from the desktop. They get especially confused by the fact that dragging to the trash works for some "files" but not for others.
Steps to reproduce:
* Drag a file attachment from an email in Thunderbird to the desktop. This will create the link on the desktop.
* Now, drag the link from the desktop to the trash on the launcher => An error message pops up.
