Bug Description

System information:
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit that originally came with system (Dell Inspiron 3521)
-Keyboard layout English (US)
-Compiz 0.9.7.12
- Unity 5.18.0

Problem:
-Super key should show Dash Home lens but nothing happens
-Super+A should show Applications Dash lens but nothing happens
-Super+F should show Files Dash lens but nothing happens
-Super+M should show Music Dash lens but nothing happens
-Long press Super key should show Unity shortcuts and numbers on app shortcuts on Launcher but nothing happens

On contrary Super+Tab works fine cycling through app shortcuts in Launcher. Also CTRL+Super+Up/Down/Left/Right arrow to minimize/maximize window or make it take 50%left/take 50%right of the screen works fine. In Keyboard Layout/Options Alt/Win key behavior is set to "Default".

I have installed CompizConfig Settings Manager and under "Key to show Launcher" within Desktop/Ubuntu Unity Plugin setting it stands "Disabled". When I try to restore it to default it shows "<Super>" for a second and then gets back to "Default". If I try to asign different key combination, for example "CTRL+<Super>" it works, Dash is displayed when short pressed and keyboard shortcuts and numbers on app shortcuts in Launcher are shown, but it doesn't react to CTRL+Super+A/F/M or CTRL+Super+number of app in Launcher (probably because it is now three key combination instead of two like it originally should be).

So it seems that Super key is not totally out of order but just in some combination what can be some conflict or I don't know. Especially as setting "Key to show Launcher" to default, which is Super key, is not possible as system automaticaly brings that back to "Disabled".

If you have some workout or need more info on this...

This appears to be specific to Dell systems; a Dell engineer has commented in bug 1154430.
