removing shadow between launcher and panel

removing the panel shadow ( blank file from /usr/share/unity/theme ) is working as expected my panel does nt hav a shadow anymore but just on top launcher there is a small shadow i can't remove.

uncheck the decoration plugin from ccsm is not working the shadow is always displayed so i do not understand how to change this behavior

This bug is still present in 14.10. Is there any kind of a workaround to get rid of it? I don't use the launcher for this reason.

This bug makes the launcher look very awkward when a window is maximized -- there's no shadow between the panel and the window, but there is between the panel and the launcher. In my opinion, this looks sloppy and unprofessional. Additionally, when the launcher is set to appear at the bottom of the screen, it doesn't make sense for the shadow to be there since there is nothing directly above it to cast a shadow.
