Top panel is not reacting on the mouse pointer

Bug Description

After about 1 hour of uptime top panel is not reacting on the mouse pointer. I can't interact with any applet and user menu. I can't interact with any software menu on the top panel. It is just not reacting.

This is not a 100% duplicate. Unity left panel was active, the dash was active. Only the top menu does not respond.

I have 100% repro of this issue immediately after switching conversation tabs in Pidgin. Running Saucy, and I can see the unity-panel-service jump to 100% cpu usage in top and in conky. Please contact me if you need any more info.

This is fixed for me in saucy as of updates today, at least following my steps above using Pidgin. Will comment again if I see it elsewhere. If anyone else had repro for libreoffice and can verify a fix against a fully updated Saucy, that'd be useful for people reviewing this bug I am sure...

As of updates today the bug is back, using the same repro of switching conversation tabs in Pidgin. I don't know if it was a fluke before that I saw it as fixed, but it's definitely back now.

For anyone watching this bug, I found https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1199877 , and it looks like a fix was released today. Seems fixed following my repro.
