Bug Description

When I empty the trash from Launcher, it changes the focus away from the current maximized window (e.g. Firefox) to the file manager if Nautilus is open. When Nautilus is closed, the behaviour is normal; only the confirmation message appears.

To clarify one point, this occurs when the file manager is out of focus. If minimized or closed, this is not an issue.

As part of the big bug review for 16.04 LTS I have tested this on 15.10 and the bug is still there.

Change in behaviour:

A new Nautilus window is opened and focused regardless of the current state of Nautilus. This behaviour occurs when a Nautilus window is open, closed, minimised and even when Nautilus is stopped (nautilus -q in a terminal).

This isn't a duplicate of Bug #1445595 because this affects Trusty, but the other bug affects only Vivid and later.

Actually, one bug can have many packages, projects and distro series. I'm marking this bug as a duplicate.

This really is a different bug. Bug #1445595 is about a new Nautilus window opening. That doesn't happen with this bug on Trusty.

Also this bug has been around for a while, but the other bug is a recent regression, so the fix for that bug is unlikely to fix this one.
