Bug Description

In Ubuntu 12.04, installed right after release, Libre Office has worked flawlessly with the Unity Dock until just recently. Now, the small white chevrons no longer appear when Libre is running.... no matter how many instances/files of Libre is open. For a time, a separate document blank icon would appear below indicating a document was open, but no longer.

When I first boot Ubuntu in the morning and start Libre, the white notification chevons appear. Later, they disappear so you can't tell if it is running if there are other application windows currently running. But, when I close all other applications, then Libre will show up on the desktop if it is running.... with no white chevrons.

You may find it interesting that lately (seems like about the same time frame for the Libre problem!) the weather applet crashed and triggered a "Ubuntu crash" popup and a report has been sent many times. The weather indicator icon disappears from the top bar.

Both the weather app and Libre work when the computer is first booted and for ??? hours.

I'm unable to reproduce this in 15.10, so it seems like it's been fixed in later versions of Unity.

Would someone please confirm whether or not this still occurs on 12.04?
