Show copy dialog not working

I am copying lots of files from local hdd (ntfs) to an external hdd (ntfs). I don't see the copy dialog and cannot make it visible. I only see the small status on the Nautilus icon in Launch bar. If i right click Nautilus and select Show copy dialog, nothing happens. Probably the type of partitions does not matter, I only posted to make sure it is known.

kil-ing nautilus and then opening a folder to copy helps, but this most probably will kill the copy progress.

Happening to me in 14.04. The first large batch of file transfers displayed the file transfer/copy status window just fine, but a subsequent large batch of files transferred failed to produce the window. I only know the transfer is still occurring by looking at my animated system monitor window, and by directly observing the folder being copied to (looking at files appear).

Also I dont even have a progress bar on the unity launcher icon (like the OP does). Vistually speaking, there isnt any real evidence that the file transfer is happening.

this is not the same bug as 1575452 as the file copy dialog is nowhere to be seen, it has dissapeared and cannot be shown again.

Somehow it got hidden in 16.04 LTS while on a transfer and clicking on "Show Copy Dialog" doesn't do anything.
