Bug Description

If I start subdownloader from dash home, the application window comes up and the icon appears on the dash bar, then, after less than 1 sec the icon disappears (at about the same time when the login popup appears over the subdownloader main window). The icon never ever appears, so if I minimize the subdownloader main window, the application will keep running but it won't be visible anymore to the average user. (Or even me - I just noticed that I had 4 instances of it running...)

If subdownloader is started from gnome-terminal, the bug doesn't appear.

I think it might actually be something that subdownloader is doing wrong not unity.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 1008216 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Could not reproduce it on Ubuntu 14.04.1 + subdownloader 2.0.14-1.1.

(BTW, the original report was filed against Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, which is still supported... whatever... if no one bothered to confirm it for 1.5 years, I won't care neither.)
