unity-tweak-tool overwrites custom config without user interaction

unity-tweak-tool (Ubuntu)
Confirmed

Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:

1. Configure system exactly how you want it using gnome-tweak-tool and ccsm.
2. Run unity-tweak-tool and view each settings panel without changing any settings.

What happens:

Each panel you view resets all customized settings to the unity-tweak-tool defaults. For example, viewing the "theme" panel will reset the Gtk theme and window decorations to Ambiance, and viewing other panels will wipe out compiz shortcut key settings.

What should happen instead:

unity-tweak-tool should not change any settings unless I specifically click in the controls to change them.

That is a serious issue, except that I am unable to reproduce it.

Can you upgrade to 0.0.5 from our PPA and check if the problem persists?
Does opening unity-tweak-tool reset the settings or do you have to
select each tab?
Does this happen each time you use the application or only some times?
If it does not happen always, can you try to isolate one test case when
the bug can be reproduced reliably? like setting an environment variable
or doing some actions in some order, etc.

P.S : unity-tweak-tool does not have any default settings, at least none
that I recall. It queries gsettings backend and updates the user
interface when it starts. If any particular control doesn't, thats a bug
and will be fixed when found.

You have to actually select the tab, not just the icon on the front page.
ie

1. Set window decorations to to "Human" using gnome-tweak-tool
2. Open unity tweak tool
3. Click "theme" icon
4. Click "icons" tab
5. Click "theme" tab

Now window decorations revert to ambiance.

(the panel in the screenshot appears to do the same thing - it disabled compiz ezoom settings when visited)

Something like this affected me as well. After my first startup after installing unity-tweak-tool my Unity icons had reverted to the default icon set. The gtk theme was unchanged.

I can't remember if I opened unity-tweak-tool before I restarted. I then tried to reset the icon theme but the Unity icons did not change (the gtk theme did). After uninstalling unity-tweak-tool I still could not change the icon theme (using ubuntu-tweak). After a restart changing the icon theme worked as expected.
