Bug Description

I have an Asus Zenbook NX500. The color profile is wrong as red is very, very saturated.

To fix this I should be able to use Systems Settings -> Color -> Calibrate to adjust the settings but this is greyed-out/disabled.

I've tried running "sudo unity-control-center --overview" to see if it was a permissions issues with my account but the Calibrate button remains greyed out.

Since I can't calibrate my screen I consider this a bug.

Did you ever figure this out?

I believe that the calibration is supposed to be done with a colorimeter and the button is grayed out because there's no colorimeters connected:

Really, over 2 years and someone considers this "confirmed" as of 6 hours ago?

I've moved onto the 16.04 release.

I did have a calibration device attached but I couldn't find drivers for it. I had borrowed it from a friend and since it's so long ago I don't remember the device I was using but it worked a treat on the TV.

I would also point out that you can't load a color profile under 15.04. If you know what your doing I should have been able to load color profile to fix the issue but I couldn't even do that.

The ability to load a color profile doesn't work for this same machine, under 16.04. Or if it is possible it eluded me, even running a root.

I just calibrated my display with an X-Rite in 16.04 LTS and it loaded the resulting profile automatically.

I'm not a Ubuntu developer. I just bumped into the disabled calibrate button and came here via Google. I later realized that it was due to a calibration device not being connected. I was expecting some manual calibration instead and incorrectly confirmed this bug.

I came here after searching online for the same thing.

It supports all the devices that colord supports: https://github.com/hughsie/colord

I would like to see more information:
- which devices are supported in ubuntu

and some feedback on why the calibrate button is greyed out.
