Also, builtin monitor appears as "Off" in settings, and on the right side from "BenQ 24", it was put on the left side in my standard settings.

After setting it "On", and pressing "Apply", builtin monitor turned on.

I also have this issue. For the record I believe it's been happenining to me since about 12.10? Maybe 13.04. I've been using the same monitor setup though.

<Raises hand> Me too.

Seems to happen almost all of the time. On rare occasions, it will wake properly.

I also have a dedicated GPU (I can't get lshw section for it for some reason), used with the opensource driver:
VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Mars XTX [Radeon HD 8790M]

$ uname -a

Linux peci1-Latitude-E6540 3.13.0-65-generic #105-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 21 18:50:58 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

This issue didn't happen when I used the fglrx driver for the ATI card. However, using that driver, I had another problem, so I switched to the opensource one.
