Bug Description
If we are going to have a photo lens there needs to be at least rudamentary raw file support. gnome thumbnailer just takes the embedded jpeg preview and displays that. something similar should be done.

I agree on the importance of it.
As a side effect of fixing https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ unity-lens- photos/ +bug/1057432 , raw files are now correctly displayed in the results (available in the latest dev snapshot in this PPA : https:/ /code.launchpad .net/~unity- lens-photos/ +archive/ staging )
Previews are still missing for raw files and it would probably require changes on Unity side, but as it won't land in time this cycle, I'm going to rely on the files Shotwell generates when displaying raw files. Which is not a perfect solution but still a solid workaround for fixing this bug.
