Bug Description
This is to complete after bug #1058619 has been "fixed".
Now unity-lens-
On a test machine (netbook Acer eMachines M355, Intel Atom 2 GB RAM, BTRFS) (that used to work OK in Precise and previous...), after a fresh bootup and right after login :
-a/ When clicking on the dash icon, the "Files and folders" entries appear immediately, but it takes another 8 seconds before the "Applications" category appears with some apps.
-b/ Then, when clicking on the "Applications" tab at the bottom, it takes another 21 seconds (!!!) before anything appears in the applications list.
On EeePC 1005PE (Intel Atom, 2GB RAM, encrypted BTRFS), figures are (a) 20 secs (!!!), then (b) 16 secs.
On Toshiba L735-101 (Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, encrypted BTRFS) figures are (a) 7 secs, then (b) 1 minute and 7 secs (!!!!!)
All 3 have 64-bits installations.
Unacceptable.
