Unity-lens-applications doesn't run synaptic

Type synaptic in dash and click in synaptic application icon. Nothing happens.

# tail ~/.xsession-errors shows the following
The value for the SHELL variable was not found the /etc/shells file

This incident has been reported.

Putting the following line in /etc/shells solve the problem
/bin/bash
