I've seen that as well, when that happens (in the unity greeter there) clicking on the users doesn't work either, keyboard navigation is still working though

I believe it's easiest (only?) triggerable when clicking on the edges of the screen. I'll look into this a bit, but it's a weird one.

Still the case with
lightdm:
  Installed: 0.9.3-0ubuntu8
  Candidate: 0.9.3-0ubuntu8
  Version table:
 *** 0.9.3-0ubuntu8 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Left click is ok and displays drop-down menus.
Right click on empty space locks indicators (which btw. look well integrated now).
Then a click on the button to view available sessions also doesn't work.
Mouse click to bring pwd field into keyboard focus works and allows to login.

I suppose is the same bug.. In the lightdm login screen my mouse click dont work sometimes.
I cannot select session or click on the top bar. If i put the cursor on the little icon to select session, icon don't change, no reaction.. i can just login with the previous session that i selected the last time, cannot reboot, cannot shutdown..

It work again if i logon into a session and disconnect..

No issue here anymore with right click on indicators, afterwards menus open, shutdown can open a dialog window (although it looks ugly, like gtk2), calendar displays ok.

Idea due to Bug #828761 and since #9 doesn't have the issue anymore with open source radeon driver, could it be related with nvidia?

This bug also affects me.
Hardware : notebook Asus Eeepc 1005PE

The mouse clicks are disabled if I click just once in the upper bar of the login screen.

They are *not* disabled if I click on the icons on the upper right (battery, date, speaker, ...)

Restarting the lightdm service in a terminal (ctrl-alt-f1, then login, then sudo service lightdm restart) makes the mouse clicks respond again.

Note also that no sound is produced on the lightdm login screen, as opposed to when I start gdm
