Bug Description

In Ubuntu 14.04 daily (current versions today) there repeatently appears a bug that makes it impossible to enter a password on login.

It is still possible to select another user by mouse but not to enter something in the password field.
Rebooting does not help.

A workaround is to select and login to guest session and logout again, afterwards it is possible to enter a password again.

The but occurs almost everytime after bootup.

(lightdm version 1.9.7)

I have the same issue, but I can login after 1-2 minutes. Keyboard is unresponsive, but mouse, menus and wifi notifications works.

The bug is still present on today daily version. It happens randomly (on 10 cold boots, 5 times keyboard works at login and 5 times it doesn't). When the keyboard doesn't work, I need to click with mouse for example on sound indicator at the top panel and then keyboard starts working. My keyboard is Logitech K120 if that matters. This bug is very annoying and I think it should be fixed ASAP for LTS release. Most likely it only happens on some (Logitech?) keyboards.

In about 50% of times, I also have no password field to login. I can get the password entry field back with : Ctr-Alt-F2 and then: unity --reset-icons When I hit Ctr-Alt-F7 to leave terminal, the password field is there. So, I can then enter password and loging but then obviously my unity icons are back to default.
