Bug Description
While running Unity or GNOME Shell, pressing the hardware Power button opens a dialog offering to shut down, restart, or (if supported) suspend the computer, with a countdown to automatically shut down after 60 seconds. This is very useful, but it is critical that this behaviour is consistent across the system: users can expect pressing the Power button to be a safe escape route if they want to shut down the computer at any point (which can sometimes be difficult, if not downright impossible - especially if you have trouble seeing).
Unfortunately, pressing the power button from the login screen does nothing. The system does not shut down, and no dialog appears.
