I'm just making a comment to Confirm this.

The bug post was not specific enough, but I found that there are *NO sounds* except with the login screen (I don't know if that is related).

Initially I noticed this on after I installed Unity 8. On a fresh reinstall there were still no sounds.

I checked the package "ubuntu-sounds" and found it contained the sounds and that the index.theme was installed, but even the single alert sound that shows up under Sounds is unnoticeable during regular desktop usage.

## From a developer perspective 'quiet' is kind of nice, but it cuts the OS a bit short.
