Bug Description
This bug report refers to a Dell XPS13-9333 running Ubuntu 14.10.
The System Settings > Mouse & Touchpad windows provides the option to disable the touchpad whilst typing. Unfortunately, this does not seem to disable the sensitivity of the touchscreen such that inadvertent content with the screen whilst typing can alter the focus of the typing activity as would accidentally touching the touchpad if it were not disabled.
Whether or not it was intended that the touchpad checkbox should apply also to the touchscreen is unknown. However, there seems to be nowhere else under Systems Settings to control the behaviour of the touchscreen and it seems logical that the touchpad and the touchscreen should have similar functionality.
Perhaps what is needed is an extension to the Mouse & Touchpad window to provide touchscreen functionality.
If this is not considered a bug but rather an enhancement request, please accept my apologies for your perseverence.
