mouse pointer speed does not slow mouse down enough

Bug Description
Hi,
The mouse "pointer speed" setting on my ubuntu desktop is from "blazingly fast" to fast. When set to fast speed, i cant even see the pointer. I am sure this is a problem for a lot of other users who like to to use the mouse at a lower speed.
i realize that the speed maybe hardware dependant but i kind of like my current hardware. i am using a logitech wireless mouse + keyboard combo.
Please provide a way to slow down mouse more
system info: ubuntu 14.04, files 3.10.1
