Bug Description

The input method text entry will not allow the hangul key (a key designed to be used as a input method switching key) to be used to switch the input method. This also affects a number of other non-English keyboards that have an input switching key on their keyboard.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your report!

I don't quite understand what you mean by "key" in this context. Could you please elaborate, maybe with an example, so also a dummy like me get the picture. ;)

Or are you possibly talking about the ability that IBus (i.e. not specifically ibus-hangul) had previously to enable/disable the input method engine using a keyboard shortcut?

Korean keyboards have a hangul key on the keyboard, it is in the location
of the right alt key on a us keyboard. The key is supposed to be a toggle
key to switch between Korean characters and Latin characters. Previously
(Ubuntu 12.10 and before) you were able to set this key to switch input
methods, now the text entry settings will not allow it to be set (switch
to next source) . This is extremely inconvenient for Korean users, (as
well as other Asian language users)
