T420 Lenovo laptop. Mouse touchpad re-enabled on each reboot. 13.10 and 14.04 have same issue.

Brian,
I tagged this as "Ubuntu Desktop" but it changed back to "Meta", not sure
why.

To disable touchpad, I am: System Settings --> Mouse and Touchpad -->
Change Touchpad to "off". This switches to "on" after every reboot.

It was changed because ubuntu-desktop is a binary metapackage provided by the ubuntu-meta source package. For future reference considering using 'ubuntu-bug -w' in a terminal to report a bug if you don't know the package.
