Bug Description

I want to map caps-lock to control. Usually I can fire gnome-control-center, choose keyboard, click 'layout settings', then find a list of options including capslock behavior. Recently in trusty I cannot find such a list of options.

Could you give details on the dialog you are looking for? I don't see other options in gnome-control-center either. Are you speaking about the old list which was a dump of all the xorg options (which was impossible to understand for most users)?

Hi,

Over the years there have been different dialogs with different levels of customization. The latest one I was looking for is, I believe the one you linked to in comment #2. Agreed it was a bit daunting - but the options were actually well documented so that you *could* find what you wanted.

I selfishly don't care what the dialog looks like, even if it is only a single button for "make capslock an additional control" :)

Finding the right option to set using gconftool-2 or whatever is much less user-friendly, so failing a new dialog it'll be xmodmap for me again.
