Fixed with:
   unity --reset

Curroption of the relase update process causes this error.

Is there a permanent fix for this? I mean if I open a terminal and type that it works, but the terminal is hooked to the command and when I close the terminal is back to the error you mentioned.
So basically every time I have to run that in a terminal and keep it hooked to make Unity work properly.

unity -reset was a permanent solution for me.
