Bug Description
ok, first of all a little rant - I don't know which package has this bug, despite two different apport questions about it.
The first was:
"Thanks for reporting this bug. It seems you have unity running. Is the issue you are reporting is related to unity itself rather than compiz?"
Really? Very few people know how to answer this question unless they're deeply familiar with the way these packages work.
The second was:
"Thanks for reporting this bug on unity. Is the issue you are reporting purely graphical (will report more information about your graphic configuration and will report the bug against compiz)?"
What does "purely graphical" mean? And remember, for the casual user, if the windows don't do what is expected, it's graphical!
ok I feel better. Here's the problem:
If you have applications which are windowed (i.e. not maximized), and if the window boundaries are near the screen edges (i.e. it's taking up almost the whole screen) , then when you switch to another workspace and back, the application windows are maximized.
This is using unity 2d on a dual-screen workstation.
