Bug Description

The Ctrl-Alt-Numpad # Window Placement hot keys are not working at all for me. For example, in Unity 3D Ctrl-Alt-Numpad 7 places the window in the top left corner of the screen. On 2d it appears to do nothing.

Colin, I’m not sure I understand, do you mean that it doesn’t work in Unity 3D either? Or does it work as expected in Unity 3D but not in Unity 2D?

For reference, this is the list of all keyboard shortcuts that should be implemented in Unity: http://askubuntu.com/questions/28086/unity-keyboard-mouse-shortcuts.

I don’t have a keyboard with a numeric keypad at hand, can someone please confirm the bug?

My original description was not clear. I have (hopefully) clarified it. The shortcuts work on Unity 3D but not on 2D.

I turned the Num Lock function on and tried the Ctrl-Alt + Numpad # with a non-maximized Nautilus window and nothing happened.

I should try it out on my desktop though instead - sometimes Num Lock function keys are screwy on a laptop.

Opps, I forgot - I don't have unity-2d on my desktop but unity. I tried it again on my laptop with the same results - nothing happens when I use the Ctrl-Alt-Numpad # combination.

Just an unrelated note for those who found this page because ctrl-alt-numpad isn't working for them in unity-3d: There's a good chance your numpad has been turned into a mouse via an accessibility feature. Press ctrl-alt-shift-numlock to turn that off.

Same problem, window management (ctrl-alt-numpad#) works in Unity 3D but does not work in Unity 2D.
Potential ctrl-alt-shift-numlock solution didn't work.
Numpad otherwise operates as it should (i.e. it is not a mouse as far as I can see - don't know how to properly test if numpad is a mouse though besides that it is not affecting the mouse and otherwise does as a numpad should).

I'm using Ubunut under VMware Fusion on a Mac machine.
In Fusion currently there is no way to have 3d acceleration for Linux machines.
So, this shortcuts are not working for all of us who are using Ubuntu under VMware Fusion.
