Bug Description

It is not possible to reconfigure or turn off the hotkey (keysym 134, Meta_R on my machine) to open the unity-2d-shell half-transparent search window.

In fact, there are two problems
 1. because it is bound to the keysym 134, I guess, it ignores changes made with xmodmap (1)
 2. on the other hand it is not available as an option in the "System Preferences/Keyboard Pane/Hokeys Tab"

Please fix the two problems in a future release.

Regards,
Michael

Dear Michael,
thanks for the report. Unfortunately Unity2D is not actively developed any more, so only security critical fixes will be applied.

It's been ages since I looked at the code, but I don't see any evidence of hotkeys being hardwired.

I think by "half-transparent search window." you mean the HUD (let's you search for items in window menus and indicators)? If so, this should help:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/176245/how-can-i-change-the-hud-key-from-the-command-line
Let me know if that helps
