description |
I was trying to create a bootable usb stick with usb-creator. I clicked "format disk".
(What you expected to happen)
I expect this utilty to wipe my usb stick so that the iso can be installed onto it.
(What happened instead)
It said something like "dbus did not send a reply", and the system was frozen. I got into the tty and ran top there, finding that udisks-daemon is hogging both cpu and memory, and another process with an incomplete name "udisks-helper-m"(I think it is "udisks-helper-mkfs") hogging only cpu.
Output from top
4343 root 20 0 8391m 3.1g 460 R 99.9 81.3 7:41.24 udisks-daemon
8593 root 20 0 20060 504 408 R 99.9 0.0 7:41.65 udisks-helper-m
I have a dell inspiron 3421, which came with a ubuntu. I upgraded it to 13.10. I have udisks 1.0.4-8ubuntu1, usb-creator-gtk 0.2.50.1, in case these are useful
(PS My English is not very good. Edit my post if you wish.)
