2009-03-19 15:49:56 Andres Rodriguez title Network interfaces disappear in KVM guest cloned with virt-clone Network interfaces names changed in KVM guest cloned with virt-clone
2009-03-19 15:50:43 Andres Rodriguez description Binary package hint: kvm I used virt-clone to clone KVM guests. The hosts uses KVM 72 in Intrepid Ibex, and the Guests are Hardy Heron. After cloning, the machine works perfectly, everything gets cloned the way it should, but not the networking. On the cloned guest, after trying to start networking I get this error: eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFADDR: No such device eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFADDR: No such device eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFADDR: No such device Failed to bring up eth0. It seems it doesn't clone or, when cloning, something goes wrong because the network interfaces don't get cloned. Binary package hint: kvm I used virt-clone to clone KVM guests. The hosts uses KVM 72 in Intrepid Ibex, and the Guests are Hardy Heron. After cloning, the machine works perfectly, everything gets cloned the way it should, but the network interface names are changed. ie. form eth0 to eth3. The question is how can I change the network interfaces back to its original name.
