Bug Description

the update v. 0.60-1ubuntu13 fails to work as expected. As a result gpm fails to
start:
Sep 21 12:37:07 localhost /usr/sbin/gpm[6838]: oops() invoked from gpm.c(993)
Sep 21 12:37:07 localhost /usr/sbin/gpm[6838]: /dev/psaux: No such file or directory

And X server crashes just after loading nvidia module:
(EE) xf86OpenSerial: Cannot open device /dev/input/mice
 No such file or directory.
(EE) Mouse0: cannot open input device
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "Mouse0"
(II) UnloadModule: "mouse"

In /var/log/messages kernel constantly complains about udev itself:
Sep 21 12:07:46 localhost kernel: [ 791.657243] udevd[9132] trap stack segment
rip:4032a0 rsp:7fffffb05cf0 error:0
Sep 21 12:07:46 localhost kernel: [ 791.679501] udevd[9162] trap stack segment
rip:4032a0 rsp:7fffffc7fb90 error:0
Sep 21 12:07:46 localhost kernel: [ 791.698633] udevd[9176] trap stack segment
rip:4032a0 rsp:7ffffff837a0 error:0

Purging and downgrading udev to build 1ubuntu12 fixes the problem. Simple
reinstall didn't help.
