Bug Description
/dev/input directory is deleted after upgrading a colony 4 fresh install to
latest patched version i386.
Hardware is a ibm X31 laptop.
This causes X to not work.
Fixed by making the input dir in /dev and restarting udev.
mice and other devices then get created, then restart gdm and it is working again.
After each reboot the input directory does not exist.

Can you try to simply restart udev and gdm w/o first creating /dev/input?
If so then probably a dupe of bug 22141, i.e. simply a bug of udev 0.060-1ubuntu13 ?
