wireless network not working after resume

Bug Description

Running Hardy, when resuming from STD, the wireless network connection is not restored. It cannot be activated manually either. Gutsy had a 50:50 chance to restore wireless and even if it didn't, it could still be configured manually.

Doing a "/etc/init.d/dbus restart", killing X and logging in again makes it work again for me.

Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 640m. I'm not sure if it is dbus or network manager related.

What does 'ifconfig' tell you after you come back from hibernation? And also quite important: which wireless adapter do you use and/or which driver is used? Send the output of 'uname -a' for a start. Thanks.

If "ifconfig" shows a device called "wlan0_rename" or similar, this is almost certainly an occurence of bug 183968. The workaround is shown on that bug page.

I'll give the workaround mentioned above a try tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. For future bugs it is better to attach files rather than paste it in, for formatting.

Since you have a "wlan0_rename", this is certainly a duplicate of bug 183968. I will mark it as such.
