Bug Description

this is similar to Bug #799996 When I put a blank cd or dvd in the cd/dvd rom is not recognised properly , the interface shows up in lsusb, unplugging the device an plugging it in again produces multiple instances of DVD or CD-R in the left hand menu, clicking on these icons opens a window, but does not display the contents , an sd card shows up as a usb device and works OK as does a usb memory stick
I am running 14.04LTS on an eeePC 901. This all seemed to work on 11.04

Looking in Disks , Devices gives the following

Model _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A (103C)
Media Blank DVD+RW Disc
Size 2.0 KB (2,048 bytes)

Size 2.0 KB (2,048 bytes)
Device /dev/sr0 (Read-Only)
Contents Unknown

Putting a copy of Ubuntu 11.10 seems to partially work sometimes and displays "contains software"
