Binary package hint: update-manager
I think this is actually a pile of bugs with the update-
I should know better than to split the difference between recording and testing systems, but I'm hoping I can eventually help people find the straight path through the battlefield.
I've read elsewhere that it's a good idea to try a second update before restarting. If I'm not back in half an hour, tell my girlfriend...

I have worked around this bug although I do not believe the update-manager has upgraded. I believe this bug to be a match with bug 222055. My "get me through the day" solution was found in the thread for bug 276503.
