Bug Description

If I try to open ubuntuone-client when logged in as a windows domain user (using likewise-open), I get an error dialog saying

"Sorry, an error has occurred and Ubuntu One needs to close."

The details say

"IPCError"

There is a further issue which I will raise as another bug which prevents ubuntu-bug from opening a launchpad bug.

No idea if this was previously working with Precise as I have not been using a likewise user.

Hello,

Could you please check whether you have file sync disabled in ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf:

files_sync_enabled = False

If it is disabled, please change False to True there and try opening the control panel again.

If there is no files_sync_enabled item, please archive and attach the logs from ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log folder.

From the status.log, it has not connected since 26th March. Perhaps a Precise update broke it then?

It definitely looks like syncdaemon is disabled. Could you please attach the syncdaemon.log files too?

Seeing as our mistakes in those files are the same it might help you too.

Thanks, sunweb, but unfortunately that did not fix it for me.

However, I've just installed the latest proposed version of ubuntu-one-client and it now works!!!

Just enable the "Proposed" repository in Syanptic package manager first and then reload and apply the upgrade.
