Bug Description

Both Rhythmbox U1MS and the new U1 client are giving me "Cannot resolve proxy hostname "

WORKAROUND:
If you don't use proxy:
1. Open System Settings
2. Select Network Proxy.
3. Set Method to None

If you do use proxy, please make sure that the relevant HTTP and HTTPS proxy fields are filled properly.

Debugging it further we found that if the user sets the proxy method to "Manual" but leaves the proxy host field empty then libsoup will fail with this error.

This happened to me when I wanted to create a webdav folder on my Ubuntu 12.04 machine.

I guess libsoup-gnome should handle this condition properly i.e. don't use proxy if the hostname is not defined.

Both ubuntuone-client and ubuntu-sso-client should also ignore the proxy setting if the hostname is empty.
