Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

1) Release: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)
2) Package:
ubuntuone-client:
  Installed: 1.2.1-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1.2.1-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 1.2.1-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1.2.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
3) I expected my desktop client to download all folders & files from the server.
4) My desktop client reported 'Synchronization Complete' before download was complete.

Steps to reproduce:

* Disconnect Ubuntu One all clients
* Completely remove and reinstall Ubuntu One as per these instructions: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/778 on all clients
* Restart Clients
* Attach laptop client to Ubuntu One server
* Place test items in the 'Ubuntu One' folder, and select some other folders to synchronize
* Wait for a day or so (don't know exactly how long it took, but enough time to sync)
==> Laptop client is completely in sync with server. Changes get synced to server properly.
* Remove all folders on desktop with the same name as the ones on the server.
* Attach desktop client to Ubuntu One server
* Wait for a day or so (don't know exactly how long it took, but enough time to sync)
==> Desktop client reports 'Synchronization Complete', but it's not. The 'Ubuntu One' folder and one other folder are correctly synced from the server, but the two other folders are still empty. Restarting the computer/client/... doesn't work.

I will be glad to provide additional information if necessary.

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. From the "Invalid request token" it looks like there is a problem with your auth token. Can you try the following and let me know the results?

   1. Quit the Ubuntu One client
   2. Open Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys
   3. Click on the arrow next to "Passwords"
   4. Right-click on the Ubuntu One token and select "Delete"
   5. Go to https://one.ubuntu.com/account/machines/
   6. Click on the checkbox next to your computer
   7. Click the "Remove selected computers" button
   8. Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
   9. A web page should open, prompting you to add your computer to your Ubuntu One account
  10. Add your computer

You should be connected after you follow these steps. If you are not connected, can you please attach the following files to this bug report? Please zip your $HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.

You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment or patch' button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for filing this bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Thanks to some great support on IRC, sync is now working properly for me again.

The following workaround did the trick:

1) stop syncdaemon
2) delete UDF metadata and directory
3) restart syncdaemon and connect
4) if you still have any questions => ping verterok @ #ubuntuone on IRC ;-)

Actually, this wasn't fixed by an update or configuration change, but by applying a workaround, supplied by verterok. However, I do not know if verterok (or anyone else) has since then found the cause of the problem, or if a fix has already been committed.

For now I'm marking the bug as New again. I will send a message to verterok, though, and ask if he can tell me if this has been fixed yet.

Just one question I deleted the UDF meta data, but left the directory.
Will it resume from the files already there without downloading the already downloaded files?

Marking fix released, as this should be fixed in the latest ubuntuone-client package in Lucid.
