Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I've upgraded to Lucid by doing a fresh install and leaving my Home folder from Karmic which was on a separate partition (with Ubuntu One folder in it). I've deleted all the hidden folders in it and files prior to 10.04 installation.

I've setup Ubuntu One on my computer, but file sync does not work. I now see a gray icon with an exclamation mark on Ubuntu One folder and all files and folders within it. All the files there are from Karmic installation, also they can be accessed on the web (one.ubuntu.com). If I move "Ubuntu One" folder from the Home folder Ubuntu One client does nothing. Also, selecting "Publish via UbuntuOne" or "Sync to UbuntuOne" from the file context menu does nothing (at first the same entry is greyed out, but it "resets" after reboot).

If I open UbuntuOne Preferences, at first it says "Unknown", but after a short period of time it seems to connect and show available space on my account. By the way, "Unknown" (the other one) is still displayed below available space bar.

Darius,

this is a duplicate of Bug #554561. Your metadata for shares seems to be corrupted. What you could try is:

 * shutdown syncdaemon (u1sdtool --quit in a terminal)
 * backup your shared metadata (tar -cjf share-md.tar.bz2 ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/vm/shares/)
 * remove the shares metadata (rm -rf ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/vm/shares/*)
 * start again syncdaemon (u1sdtool -c)

Let me know how that goes. I'm closing the report as duplicate, we can do any follow up in the main report.

Thanks. I don't know if it is fixed yet, but in the place where the second "Unknown" was shown, now it reads "Synchronization in progress".
