Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

the ubuntuone applet pops up a window from time to time which I assume has some error message or activity information. Unfortunately the information in the window cannot be read in fact all there is are vertical and horizontal coloured lines.

KenWilson,
that is strange. I have not seen that before. Is there anyway you can get a screenshot of this?
thank you,

Also, is the Ubuntu One applet the *only* place where this happens? It seems unlikely that this would be a bug in the client itself, since it doesn't do the rendering of the notifications.

I'll try but the window pops up for a few seconds then goes away. I
think I saw an app to get a screenshot but I have not used it. Currently
I'm out of town away from my system until Wednesday.

sorry, I had to go out of town unexpectedly. I'll try and do a screen
capture tomorrow. I don't know for sure what is causing it but it
appears to be related to ubuntuone. There is nothing in the pop-up that
gives me any clue where it is coming from or what it is about.

At one time I thought it may be related to an IP address conflict as a
result of a system coming online. It could still be but I don't think so.

If you are running GNOME then PrtScr (Print Screen) key will trigger the
screenshot and you will be able to save it.

it took a while but it finally showed up... the popup window is the
black area in the upper right corner of the screen. This may be coming
from the Rhythmbox music player.

this may be another clue; When I execute the system monitor I get the
attached screen...

I don't know now the root cause but I have upgraded to release 10.04 and the problem is gone.
