Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10

I logged into my computer using a Fluxbox session, and since I have KDE installed as well, used KNetworkmanager to connect to wireless. I proceeded to launch the Ubuntu One client. I entered my password to unlock the Gnome Keychain, and usually, Ubuntu One connects. This time, it sat in the tray, still showing the disconnected symbol, so I right clicked it to launch the "Connect" dialog again, but it crashed completely instead.

I have removed the duplicate status. The fact that there is dbus timeout when applet sends request to syncdaemon does not crash the applet. It looks like something wrong has happened when the user clicked the applet.

I was able to reproduce this behavior once but I cannot really say what is wrong at the moment.

devennedrege, could you please attach the contents of your ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log directory to this bug report. I hope that the logs haven't rotated that much to prevent us from diagnosing this issue.

So applet crashed during metadata scan. But applet does not write its
exceptions to any file.

Need to do more debugging locally. This seems to be easily reproduced,
judging on the amount of 'crashed on start' reports in ubuntuone-client.

Maybe we are missing simple try/except block around some call in the
applet?
