gilseiler,
Sorry you are having problems with Ubuntu One. Could you update your client to newer version and see if that helps. The newer version just recently became available in the Recommended Updates (karmic-updates). The recommended updates should be enabled by default. You can open a Terminal (Applications > Accesories> Terminal) and run the command:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

then you can run:
dpkg -l ubuntuone-client

to verify you are running ubuntuone-client 1.0.3. Restart Ubuntu One to take advantage of the update.

If the client did not update make sure you have the correct updates enabled. (System > Administration > Software Sources) and making sure ' Recommended Updates (karmic-updates)' is checked.
