Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I have a load of archives that I put in my Ubuntu ONe folder. I clic the "Connect" button and it starts syncing. However if I suspend the machine, regardless of whether I Disconnected from the server or not, after resuming the connection doesn't work.

I click the COnnect button and nothing happens, I cant see orange traffic in my System MOnitor applet (upload traffic). I have to kill Ubuntuone-syncdaemon and click the Connect button for it to start.

Hi Hurin, I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. I believe this is a duplicate of bug 457147 but I want to make sure. Can you please attach any ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncadaemon-exceptions.log files you may have to this bug report? Thank you, Joshua

Sure thing Joshua. Here are the files since, but Im looking to reproduce the problem and get you some fresh logs about it, I haven't really used Ubuntu One since this problem and had to start using DropBox (some other compatibility issues changed my mind as well), but I will definitely help as much as I can to see this fixed in this bug or the one I duplicated.

Ok I got it to happen again.

- Hibernated
- Waked up.
- After some work with Netbeans IDE saved my files into DropBox folder.
- Opened UbuntuOne folder
- Copied the same folder I saved in DropBox folder
- Clicked on the "Connect" button
- The button changed to "Disconnect" but I didn't get the little cloud icon to apear in the upper panel tray
- No sign of outgoing traffic in the System Monitor panel
- No OSD saying files were being synced
- No sign of the files on the web administration page
- Clicked "Disconnect"
- Clicked "Connect" again but nothing happened, it stays as "Connect" regardless how many times I press it
- A packet capture didn't show anything simiar to IP 91.189.89.218 whatsoever

Unfortunately the exceptions log corresponding to when this happen is empty. So I kill the process showing with a ps -A|grep ubuntu and refreshed the folder, still an empty log. I'm attaching the regular log nevertheless.

Regards,

Hi Hurin,

Thank you for following up! I think we'll need you to turn on debug mode so the developers can get a better look at what is going on, unless you can provide some exception logs (~/.cache/ubuntuone/syncdaemon-exceptions.log). Please follow this FAQ to turn debug more on: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/932

Thanks!

Joshua

I see to be experiencing the same issue. I have attached some of the exception logs that I got on my system, same version of ubuntu but x86.

Joshua,

I followed the instructions you posted in that link. Unfortunately all I'm getting are blank exception files, even though I'm experiencing the same behaviour that Hurin experienced (ex: clicking Connect in Nautilus with no effect). Attached is my config file.

I'm not sure if anyone is checking this anymore, but for the record everytime I suspend I have to end the ubuntu-one applet and deamon and restart ubuntu one for it to resume working.

Joshua mentioned this might be a duplicate of bug 457147. However we were to verify based on the exception logs, which I don't see of much help since they are empty after the problem occurs. Would like to know what other log might we collect to troubleshoot this.

I was very confused because not all files are synchronized. I believe that what is happening is that I did use 3 machines and I never logout. I do suspend one and go to work on another expecting to receive files but never arrive. I feel that files get in sync after logout and login again

Expected behavior: Full re-sync after the box resume
