Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Periodically my ubuntu one folder will disconnect and I cannot sync. The cloud still says that I'm connected but clicking the connect button in the ubuntu one folder doesn't connect me. Also clicking disconnect in the cloud doesn't do anything. If I restart my computer, both the cloud and the folder will connect and sync. This is an intermittent problem which might be linked to my wireless signal dropping and my network re-connecting periodically. If that is the case, it would require that Ubuntu one checks it's connectivity periodically and refreshes its connection/updates it's status.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. Can you see if there are any syncdaemon-exception.log files in the following folder and attach them to this bug? ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi, Thank you for attaching the syncdaemon-exceptions.log files. Based on the error I saw, I think you may have been affected by a server issue we were experiencing during this time. Can you let me know if this is still a problem? Thank you, Joshua

Yes, it's happened twice since. When the problem occurs, the cloud says it's connected but I can't sync and when I check the 'Ubuntu One' folder, it gives me the option to "connect" but it doesn't work when I click it (similarly when I click on "disconnect", in the cloud, nothing happens). Like I say, this is an intermittent problem which is resolved by restarting my Netbook. Hope this is helpful. Also, for note, my girlfriend has Karmic Koala on her Netbook and the same thing happens with hers at the same time. That's what leads me to think it could be our network dropping and coming back online which is causing the problem for us (although I can't confirm that's what is happening). Cheers

Could you attach any new ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log files you have since you attached the last ones? I'd like to confirm that it's the same error you're getting or whether it's a new one. This will help us track down what the root cause of the issue is. Thank you, Joshua
