Thanks for trying Ubuntu One. Sorry to hear you'r having problems with it.

Could you attach this file to the bug (if it exists): ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log?

Also, this error happens all the time? are you able to start the client?

I've had this issue as well on my netbook (acer aspire 1 running current UNR karmic RC), attached is my syncdaemon-exceptions.log

Adam, you'r hitting Bug #457147.

Seems like syncdaemon is trying to create the " ~/Ubuntu One/Shared With Me" symlink but there is a directory/symlink there.
This might be caused by a incomplete migration, please could you paste the output of this commands:
 1) cat ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/vm/.version
 2) ls -la ~/Ubuntu\ One/Shared\ With\ Me
