Bug Description

i was buying music from rythmbox, the music was synced with ubuntuone but i couldnt find the music in ~/Music (the german folder is called ~/Musik) and not in ~/UbuntuOne. The Music was finally stored in the hidden Directory ~/.ubuntuone/Purchased\ from\ Ubuntu\ One/

This should be changed so that everyone will find his purchased music directly in an expected folder.

i think it would also ok to put a symlink by default in ~/Music to point to the hidden directory ~/.ubuntuone

I've set this to won't fix. We cannot place the music in the user's default music directory, because it is translated, which may cause problems for users who may use different translations on different computers, and because doing so would require the user's entire music library be synchronized, even though they may not want that. We also can't place a symlink in the Music directory, because it may result in duplicate entries of the song, showing up in the user's music player.

I'm not sure why you need to browse the files directly, but you can drag & drop from Rhythmbox onto a USB drive in Nautilus to copy them, or into other applications if necessary.

I dont want to use rythmbox to manage my mp3 files, for that i use nautilus/cp. If i want to copy the files to another place i cant do it the normal way i am working with files because they are hidden.

What about syncing the files in the Ubuntuone folder in ~ instead of using this hidden directory?

We can't feasibly change the directory to another location at this point.

However, if you feel you really must use Nautilus to manage your music, then perhaps you might want to create a bookmark for ~/.ubuntuone/Purcahsed from Ubuntu One so that it is more easily/readily accessible in Nautilus.

Rodney, thank you for your explanations. I guess my real problem is, that i buy something and ubuntu is "hidding" my paid stuff from me. Of course its not a problem for me to access that path, create a bookmark or press ctrl + h in nautilis, its just that i was wondering where my files are stored and i have to search for them first to see them because its not a good usability (in my opionen) how it is managed now but of course i understand and respect your view.

So i will acceppt the "wont fix" solution.
